A Singaporean jewellery brand graced the red carpet at the 83rd Golden Globes Awards in Los Angeles on Jan 12 – on the earlobes of American actress Jenna Ortega.
The Golden Globe nominee for her role as Wednesday Addams in television series Wednesday (2022 to present) rocked up to the ceremony in a pair of earrings from Simone Jewels’ Birds In Poetry collection.
The dangling jewels featured 10 carats of fancy-shaped gemstones, paired with pave diamonds and luminous mother-of-pearl.
Taking inspiration from the grace and freedom of flight, the Birds In Poetry collection was designed to capture the beauty of feathers in motion – through the lightness of wings unfurling and curved, fluid lines. Prices for the collection start at $5,900 for a ring.
Ortega, 23, paired the jewels with a black Dilara Findikoglu Spring 2026 gown made memorable by distressed satin, rhinestone fringes and a turtleneck top – in a nod to her sullen, gothic character Wednesday.
This is not jeweller and founder Simone Ng’s first time having her designs on the red carpet. Since working closely with stylists and creatives in the United States over the last six years, Ng has had her creations spotted on stars ranging from British actress Emily Blunt to American singer Demi Lovato.

The South Korean beauty brand’s latest innovation is the Water Bank Aqua Facial ($52 for 30ml), a high-performance serum said to deliver that coveted Korean glass skin.
Its formula is a mix of powerhouse actives: cross-linked hyaluronic acid and polyglutamic acid (said to give longer-lasting hydration), plant-derived polydeoxyribonucleotide or PDRN and hyaluronic ceramide. These work to gently re-texturise and hydrate the skin while strengthening the skin moisture barrier.
Give its lightweight texture a try, along with the rest of Laneige’s offerings, at the Glass Skin Studio pop-up at Plaza Singapura, which is on until Jan 18.

Chanel Beauty expands Rouge Noir line
Chanel Rouge Noir Collection.

To kick off the year, Chanel Beauty has dedicated an entire make-up collection to a lesser-known icon of the house.
Rouge Noir, a vampy dark red hue, was created for the 1994/95 Autumn-Winter Ready-to-Wear show – when creative directors Dominique Moncourtois, Heidi Morawetz and Karl Lagerfeld were experimenting with Chanel nail polishes to bring a fresh touch to the models’ nails.
The almost-black garnet polish became a staple in the French brand’s beauty offerings thereafter.

Three decades on, Rouge Noir is being honoured with an extended collection for the first time. It has been interpreted in a range of peripheral hues – purplish pink, brick brown, mauve-beige and magenta – for the eyes, lips and cheeks.
The star of the collection is Rouge Noir Confidence ($150), a generously sized face and eye palette using the Rouge Noir colour scheme. Accent the cheeks further with the Baume Essentielle balm stick in a new shade: Cute, a fresh and soft mauve pink.
Flatter peepers with a Noir Allure mascara ($77), Stylo Yeux Waterproof eye pencil ($47) and softer shades of the Ombre Essentielle eyeshadows ($63).

As for lips, there are four new shades of the Rouge Allure Velvet lipstick ($74 to $75) and a Rouge Allure Laque ($74) in the titular shade. Rounding up the collection are three tones of the Le Vernis nail polish ($48) – including the OG itself – and a chic three-brush set ($212).
