SINGAPORE – Singaporeans obsessed with the latest outfit styles trending on social media can look forward to more retail therapy, with cult New Zealand fashion brand Glassons set to open its first pop-up store here later in May.
The retailer, headquartered in Sydney, Australia, and Auckland, New Zealand, said on its website that it will open Glassons Garden, a pop-up store and concept cafe, at Maison Garden in Dempsey Road on May 23 from 1 to 6pm.
“Something exciting is blooming... Can you guess where our next pop-up is?” the brand wrote on Instagram on May 15 alongside photos and videos of the Singapore skyline. It has not revealed how long the pop-up will run for.
According to the brand, customers will be able to touch, try and style pieces from its collection. Register on its website to attend its pop-up.
In an Instagram post on May 18, the brand said shoppers at the pop-up will get a first look at, and can try on, its yet-to-be-released resort collection called Oasis.
The Oasis collection will be available through Glassons’ Singapore online store, with pieces sent to pop-up guests’ addresses following the event.
Guests at the pop-up will also receive made-to-order florals, sodas and event-only shopping rewards.
Singaporean pilates instructor Tiffany Lam, 22, said she was excited by news of the pop-up and immediately signed up after seeing an advertisement about it on Instagram.
Having recently moved back to Singapore from Sydney, where Glassons has a strong presence, Ms Lam said she is a regular shopper of the brand and posted a TikTok video of some of her favourite pieces in 2025.
“I think Glassons is pretty attractive in terms of styles and price point. It’s always quick to catch on to trends and its basics are of pretty good quality relative to the price tag. I reckon it’s good competition for (other fast-fashion brands like) Subdued, Brandy Melville and Cotton On,” she said.
Ms Lam added that she rarely comes across public pop-ups in Singapore, where such events are often on an invite-only basis, unlike in Australia.
“I’m happy they brought that experience over,” she said.
Founded in 1918 by J.H. Glasson in Christchurch, New Zealand, Glassons is a women’s fashion retailer known for its affordable and trendy clothing, including swimwear.
The brand has gained viral attention for pieces worn by American singer Olivia Rodrigo and TikTok star Charli D’Amelio, and Australian model and television host Rebecca Judd.
Glassons has also collaborated with Singapore social media influencers Adeline Teo, Clara Hong and Chloe Liem to promote its fashion collections.
It has 41 stores in Australia and 35 in New Zealand.
