SINGAPORE – Legacy carmakers – we have all heard the term. Often expressed with a slightly derisive tone. Like they are the past and electric carmakers are the future. Or something like that.
Toyota is a legacy carmaker. But last we checked, it is still the world’s best-selling car brand. But for how long more, no one really knows. One thing is clear, though – the Japanese company is not sitting on its hands, despite its firm insistence that electric cars are not the be-all and end-all.
