SINGAPORE – Driving the new Alfa Romeo Tonale is like meeting at a reunion an old schoolmate whom you have not seen for 40 years.
The face is somewhat familiar, but he is taller, bigger and rounder than before.
The conversation is at first stilted, subdued and probably a bit too civilised. But after you have warmed up, the playfulness of youth resurfaces and you are transported back to a time you thought you had long forgotten.
