ANTWERP, Belgium – A little over 20 years ago, BMW made a serious foray into hydrogen combustion engines, predicting that by 2020, 20 per cent of its sales would consist of such vehicles, which use the clean gas instead of fossil fuels in existing power plants.
Today, it has changed its stance, doubling its bet on electrification with battery electric as well as hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
