SINGAPORE – Ms Jessica Yeo is a self-confessed “neat freak” who likes her home to be clutter-free and low-maintenance.
The financial adviser and frequent traveller, who is in her 40s, enjoys relaxing in the privacy of her own home, as well as hosting family and friends.
As such, she wanted plenty of storage, as well as distinct areas for entertaining and personal use.
Mr Yeo See Wee, Wee Studio’s principal designer who had designed Ms Yeo’s previous home, was tasked with overhauling the 1,550 sq ft executive apartment in Rivervale Drive.
He says: “The design language incorporates bold shapes and dynamic elements that are a nod to the female form. The aim is to express femininity and strength through the use of strong lines and contrasting profiles.”
The study area and adjacent bedroom were opened up to create a long corridor that spans the length of the flat.

The apartment’s irregular floor plan presented a challenge. Mr Yeo opened up the study area and adjacent bedroom to create a long corridor that spans the length of the flat – an expanse that stretches from the main entrance to the wall at the end.
Along this continuous space are the living, dining and study areas.
Referencing the female silhouette, curved profiles help to channel this spatial flow from end to end. They take the form of textured panels with rounded contours, curved corners with hidden storage and furniture with rounded designs.
In the living room, an eye-catching La Mamma armchair and footstool from B&B Italia make a bold statement. The pieces were designed by the late Italian architect Gaetano Pesce, who was inspired by the votive statues of prehistoric fertility goddesses.
The elegant and simple form of the Alanda coffee table, also from B&B Italia, completes the living room.
As the home comprises multiple open-concept zones, each space needed an anchor. For the dining area, part of which used to be the study, a bespoke curved table that interlocks with an entertainment island sits under a Foscarini Big Bang pendant lamp.
One of the bedrooms was converted into the new study, which doubles as a children’s play area when young guests visit.

One former bedroom is now the new study area at the end of the progression of spaces.
Ms Yeo works at a long, built-in desk on one side and relaxes in a daybed by the window, with plenty of room in the middle for her to do yoga.
“When guests bring their kids, this also becomes a children’s play area,” she says.
The kitchen’s trapezoidal shape was softened with a curved wall.

In the trapezoid-shaped kitchen, a window by the sink offers a view of the neighbourhood.
Mr Yeo says: “The strategic placement of the kitchen sink next to the window elevates the mundane task of washing dishes into an enjoyable one.”
Deep, muted tones contrast with light hues in the master suite.

Created by combining two bedrooms, the master suite has an L-shaped configuration. An arched headboard continues the curved theme.
The vanity is around the corner from the sleeping area.

Around the corner from the sleeping area is the walk-in wardrobe, which is connected to the vanity and master bathroom.
Ambient lighting, a separate shower and toilet, and large-format shower wall tiles give the bathroom hotel-like qualities.
The separate shower and toilet open directly to the vanity area.

For Mr Yeo, this project celebrates Ms Yeo’s individuality. “The design balances femininity and strength to create spaces that are visually striking, yet functional, and which truly reflect Jessica’s unique personality and style,” he says.
Ms Yeo moved into her new abode in October 2022 after a six-month renovation.
