SINGAPORE – During the pandemic, frozen foods started filling up freezers because of their shelf stability and affordability.
After Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February, pressure on the food supply chain grew, driving up animal feed, fertilisers and energy prices. This resulted in yet higher food costs. Along with other inflationary pressures, these made consumers even more budget-conscious.
