SINGAPORE – Out of plain sight in a corner of the basement carpark at Gateway East in Beach Road, Chit Chat & Makan Eating House with its unlit signboard has the look of a foodcourt stuck in time.
But at 11.30am, the place sputters to life and, by noon, the queue at its yong tau foo stall – the most popular one – is more than 20 hungry customers deep.
