Tzuyu apologises for weak vocals at K-pop girl group Twice’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show debut

Four members of K-pop girl group Twice performed at the 2025 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in New York City on Oct 15.

K-pop girl group Twice made their runway debut at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York on Oct 15, the first time a K-pop group performed at the famed lingerie runway extravaganza.
Members Nayeon, Momo, Jihyo and Tzuyu sported pink knee-high fur-lined leg warmers, and lingerie in pink and black.
Jihyo, 28, said through an interpreter on the red carpet: “We usually perform as a nine-member group, but it’s just four this time. We hope everyone enjoys our new performance.”

The other five members are Jeongyeon, Sana, Mina, Dahyun and Chaeyoung.
Nayeon, Momo, Jihyo and Tzuyu performed This Is For (2025) and Strategy (2024) at the event.
Strategy is one of the songs featured on the soundtrack of Netflix’s hit animated film KPop Demon Hunters (2025), while This Is For is the title track from Twice’s fourth Korean studio album, which dropped in July.
However, some fans took issue with the group’s performance, with some lamenting Tzuyu’s “weak vocals”.
The Taiwanese singer took to fan platform Bubble after the show and apologised for her performance.
“Before coming to New York, I practised well with my vocal coach, but my throat got worse after arriving,” wrote the 26-year-old in Korean. “My voice was still good during the rehearsal, but it got worse during the actual performance and I couldn’t make a sound as my throat was hoarse.”
Twice leader Jihyo also spoke out on Tzuyu’s behalf on Bubble, urging fans to encourage her.
The 28-year-old wrote: “Her cold has gotten really bad, and it broke my heart seeing her like this. She must be feeling awful, so keep showering her with praise.”
In addition to Twice, the 2025 edition also featured performances by American rapper Missy Elliott, American singer Madison Beer and Colombian singer Karol G.
Twice are the second K-pop act to perform at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, after K-pop girl group Blackpink’s Lisa opened the event for the American lingerie label in 2024.
Twice, who celebrate their 10th anniversary in 2025, released their special album, Ten: The Story Goes On, which includes the lead single Me+You, on Oct 10.
They are in the midst of their This Is For World Tour, which stopped by the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Oct 11 and 12. They will next perform in Kuala Lumpur on Oct 25.
