Taiwanese actress Ariel Lin, who has a three-year-old daughter with her husband Charles Lin, is expecting her second child later in 2025.

This was first reported by Mirror Media on March 19, which said the 42-year-old actress is five months pregnant.

Ariel Lin confirmed the news, telling the Taiwanese magazine that the second pregnancy was planned and that she has been mentally prepared for it.

She added that she wanted to give her daughter a companion, without disclosing the gender of her second baby.

Mirror Media noted that Lin managed to conceal her baby bump in February when she attended International Film Festival Rotterdam in a babydoll dress.

The actress was at the Dutch festival to promote the romantic film Blind Love, which she produced and starred in.

Lin also managed to keep her first pregnancy in 2021 under wraps until September, when Mirror Media broke the news. She gave birth to her daughter in October that year.

She married Mr Lin, a businessman based in the United States, in December 2014.

The couple, who have lived apart for long periods of time, rarely appear together in public after marriage, sparking speculation from time to time that their marriage is on the rocks.

Ariel Lin even had to take to Chinese social media platform Weibo in April 2021 to refute some strange rumours: that she was made to wake up early to make breakfast for her in-laws, and they had asked her to eat frogs to improve her health.

She recently starred in the critically acclaimed

Taiwanese series Imperfect Us

(2024), which also featured Taiwanese actress Ann Hsu and actor Mike He.

Lin is also known for starring in idol drama It Started With A Kiss (2005) and its sequel They Kiss Again (2007), both with Taiwanese actor Joseph Cheng.

Former child star Steven Chang, who played Cheng’s younger brother in the series, got married recently.
