Superman actor David Corenswet flew to Singapore for F1 race

SINGAPORE – Superman was in town during the Formula One (F1) Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2025 on Oct 5.

American actor David Corenswet, who played the titular superhero in the 2025 Superman film, talked about his time in Singapore in a video posted on Instagram on Oct 6.

“First F1 experience in the books, thanks to @visit_singapore,” the 32-year-old wrote, tagging Singapore Tourism Board’s (STB) @visit_singapore account. “Tremendous dedication from the crews and the drivers who, I can confirm, operate with zero leg room or cup holders.”

Singaporean actors Zoe Tay and Desmond Tan, who were also at the F1 race on Oct 5, uploaded on social media the photos they had taken with Corenswet.

“Superman in SIN town,” Tay, 57, wrote. Actors Glenn Yong and Tyler Ten were also in the group photo.

In addition, Tan, 39, posted a close-up photo with Corenswet and Tay on his social media accounts on Oct 5, with the caption: “First time meeting Superman in my life.”

Tan also met Chinese actor Dylan Wang at the race, writing: “Fellow actor for a living.”

Wang, the star of Chinese period drama Guardians Of The Dafeng (2024 to 2025), also posted a video and pictures of his time in Singapore on Instagram and Weibo.

“F1 in full throttle, let’s get fired up,” the 26-year-old wrote in Chinese on Weibo, tagging STB’s official Weibo account. “Singapore is amazing, absolutely thrilling.”

Local celebrities who were at the race included actor Richie Koh, actresses Ferlyn G and He Yingying, as well as Yes 933 DJ Zhu Zeliang.

Other foreign celebrities who were at the race included English model Romeo Beckham, son of former English football star David Beckham and fashion designer Victoria Beckham; Hong Kong model Ella Yam, daughter of Hong Kong actor Simon Yam and model Qi Qi; as well as South Korean singer Dino from K-pop boy band Seventeen.

Other foreign stars who have been spotted at previous races include South Korean actors Hyun Bin and Lee Jung-jae, Taiwanese actors Chen Bo-lin and Cheryl Yang, and Hong Kong model Gaile Lok.
