Singer Harry Styles runs Berlin marathon, clocks impressive timing of just under 3 hours

British pop star Harry Styles participated in Germany’s Berlin Marathon – known to attract elite runners from around the world – on Sept 21 and clocked an impressive timing of two hours, 59 minutes and 13 seconds.

Finishing under three hours is considered a major accomplishment for marathon runners.

According to German newspaper Tagesspiegel and the Associated Press, the 31-year-old singer registered under the pseudonym Sted Sarandos and wore sunglasses and a headband.

He competed against 55,000 runners and finished 524th in the over-30 age group and 2,241st overall.

Styles, who made his name with boy band One Direction before embarking on a solo career in 2017, was spotted in a photo finish with Britain’s Richard Whitehead. The athlete’s accolades include two golds at the 2012 and 2016 Paralympic Games.

Whitehead posted an Instagram photo with Styles on Sept 21 and wrote: “2.58 in Berlin with my mate”.

In March, the popular performer ran the Tokyo Marathon, where he clocked three hours and 24 minutes.

Styles, who has won three Grammys, including Album of the Year for Harry’s House (2022), has made headlines in recent weeks for dating American actress Zoe Kravitz, 36.

In early September, People magazine reported that the pair have been spending time in New York and have met Kravitz’s father, American singer Lenny Kravitz.

Romance rumours first swirled in August, when the couple were spotted together in Rome, Italy, with her arm around him as they walked together.

They were photographed kissing in London following a promotional event for her latest movie Caught Stealing, and holding hands while on a walk in Brooklyn, New York.

Zoe Kravitz was engaged to American actor Channing Tatum in 2023, but they called it quits in 2024. Styles was linked to Canadian actress Taylor Russell, but they broke up in 2024 after under a year of dating.
