SINGAPORE – Popular action-adventure comedy movie Sonic The Hedgehog 3 will soon premiere in theatres in Singapore, but the titular supersonic blue hedgehog of the video game adaptation will not only be on-screen, it will also take to the skies.

The Singapore Flyer will present a Sonic The Hedgehog-themed experience that opens on Dec 26, the same day the movie opens locally. It will run till March 23.

Guests to the 30-minute experience, which is priced at $79 a person, can step into a Sonic X Shadow Generations capsule on the observation wheel.

The experience allows visitors to play the Sonic The Hedgehog video games, created by Japanese video-game-maker Sega. It includes a special Sonic-themed mocktail, a Sonic The Hedgehog 3 action figure from the film, and chocolate crafted by Singaporean chocolatier Janice Wong.

Those who post about the experience on social media can also bring home goodies in a sure-win lucky draw, with prizes including movie merchandise from Sonic The Hedgehog 3 and copies of the video game Sonic X Shadow Generations for Playstation.

Visitors to the Sonic The Hedgehog experience at the Singapore Flyer will get a Sonic action figure, try a Sonic-inspired blue mocktail, and stand a chance to win a copy of the Playstation game Sonic X Shadow Generations.

Sonic The Hedgehog is a hit media franchise that began in 1991 with a video game. It later developed into a live-action film series that started as Sonic The Hedgehog (2020), with American actor Ben Schwartz lending his voice to Sonic and veteran American actor Jim Carrey starring as the antagonist Dr Robotnik.

Aside from the third movie, a sequel was released in 2022 while a fourth movie has been confirmed for a 2027 release.

Singapore Flyer general manager Ringo Leung said: “This partnership delivers a next-level experience that allows guests and fans to experience the best of Singapore’s skyline and Sonic The Hedgehog video games like never before.”
