2024 Yuewen Global IP Awards
A host of Chinese film and television stars will be in town for the annual Chinese cultural and entertainment awards show that honours the works of writers, creators and artistes.
They include actor-singer Dylan Wang, best known for his role in television drama Guardians Of The Dafeng (2024), a fantasy series adapted from a web novel of the same name. At the previous Yuewen Global IP Awards in 2024 – the first one to be held in Singapore – he won the prize for Outstanding Impact Actor of Adaptations.
Other celebrities in attendance include Angela Zhang, Azora Chin, Li Qin, Laure Shang, Loger and Mario.
The 2024 Yuewen Global IP Awards takes place at Resorts World Sentosa on Feb 28, 6pm.
The event will unveil the results of the annual IP honour list that spotlights 2024’s top-performing IPs across literature, animation, film, TV, gaming and merchandise. It will also feature stage performances, a red-carpet show and an industry forum. It aims to build a platform to promote IP industry integration and serve as a gateway for Chinese IPs to expand internationally.
Resorts World Sentosa’s Yuewen Global IP Awards Package, which starts at $1,240 (go to str.sg/Bbdt), includes a two-night stay at either Hotel Michael or Equarius Hotel and two tickets to the 2024 Yuewen Global IP Awards.
The show will also be streamed live on WeTV (wetv.vip).
G.E.M. - I Am Gloria
Hong Kong star G.E.M. will be back in Singapore for a show at the National Stadium.
Hong Kong singer G.E.M. is finally returning to Singapore for a concert after eight years – and this time, at the bigger venue of the National Stadium.
One of the most-streamed female Chinese singers on Spotify, the Mandopop diva’s show is part of the I Am Gloria global tour that also had stops in London and Paris in January, and Kuala Lumpur in February. It kicked off in December 2023 in Guangzhou, and includes other Chinese cities such as Shenzhen and Beijing.
It marks a pivotal chapter for G.E.M., who has embraced her given name Gloria Tang and is the tour’s creative director. Fans can look forward to beloved hits like Bubble (2012), Light Years Away (2016) and Gloria (2022), each reflecting her journey from darkness to light.
G.E.M, whose music video for Light Years Away won the Guinness World Record for the most-watched Chinese music video on YouTube in 2021, last performed here in 2017, with two concerts at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

She Shines Music Festival
Singapore band Taledrops are one of the female musicians performing at the She Shines Music Festival.
She Shines Music Festival, a gig that features a line-up of Singapore-based female musicians, is back for its second instalment.
Held in conjunction with International Women’s Day, the multi-genre show includes acts like singer-songwriter Krysta Joy, jazz pianist and singer Amanda Lee, violinist Bellwether Bayou and alternative/progressive rock band Taledrops.
An event founded by musician and composer Michelle SgP, the gig also features performances by rock band Chop Swee and pop music collective Flower Power.
Michelle SgP will also host an all-women open music jam, which will be anchored by musicians such as drummer Audrey Tang and pianist Amanda Lim.
