SINGAPORE – Irish rock band The Script are set to return to the Singapore Indoor Stadium for a concert on Feb 8, 2025.

The show is part of their first tour since lead guitarist, vocalist and co-founder Mark Sheehan died of an undisclosed illness in April 2023 at the age of 46.

The Script last performed in Singapore at the same venue in 2022. They also performed there in 2018, 2015, 2013 and at Fort Canning in 2011.

Pre-sales for tickets – priced from $115 to $195 – start on Aug 29, while general sales start on Aug 30.

Best known for pop-rock hits such as Hall Of Fame (2012), Breakeven (2008) and The Man Who Can’t Be Moved (2008), the band released their seventh album, Satellites, in mid-August. It went to No.1 on the Irish charts and No. 2 on the British charts.

In a press statement, frontman Danny O’Donoghue says Satellites pays tribute to Sheehan.

The quartet also comprises drummer Glen Power, bassist Benjamin Sargeant and new guitarist Ben Weaver.

The cover of Irish band The Script’s album, Satellites, includes a silhouette that depicts band co-founder Mark Sheehan, who died in 2023.

O’Donoghue, 43, says: “The album cover (features) silhouettes of me, Glen and Ben. Then we have a hooded silhouette, because the air of Mark is still there.

“He always will be, but it’s also giving a tip of the hat to the future. It’ll never be the same Script. We’re just trying to get on and do what it is that we all feel is the next right thing to do, and that’s to keep making more great music.”
