New dawn for Japanese dramas

J-dramas see upswing in popularity as more of the content is now available on streaming platforms

Ms Sairah Banu used to watch her favourite Japanese dramas such as Boys Over Flowers (2005 to 2007) and Hana-Kimi (2007) on video discs or through streaming entertainment site Crunchyroll. But the 28-year-old, who was in secondary school then, stopped after a few years.
The analyst at a pharmaceutical company says: "I used to watch them quite frequently, but after a while, it became very difficult to find sources online to watch them."
