Who: Singer-musicians Tay Kewei, 41, and Alfred Sim, 43, who have been married for nine years.

They recently released Light In You, which they describe as a song about creating unforgettable moments with your loved ones. The track is the first original English duet by the pair. It is the theme song for the Christmas edition of illumi, the immersive light installation exhibition that takes up more than 20,000 sq m at the Bayfront Event Space next to Marina Bay Sands.

The Christmas edition, which features seasonal displays and holiday-themed attractions, is on until Jan 6. Ticket prices start at $12 and are available at str.sg/5vMD

Both singers found the spotlight on reality singing competition Project SuperStar (2005 to 2014) – Tay took part in 2006, while Sim won in 2014 – and went on to release albums. In July 2015, they both made it to the final round of The Voice Of China (2012 to 2015).

The couple were married in 2015 after dating for 10 years and have three sons aged two, four and seven. They live in an HDB executive apartment in the east of Singapore.

“Our perfect weekend is a staycation with our three boys where we get to connect with nature, so ideally, it is a beach resort.

This will help us to unwind from our daily hustle and the kids will get to swim and play with sand endlessly, without us rushing them to go anywhere else.

We won’t have to pile into the car and drive out to eat, and we don’t even have to think of what to order – it will be a buffet where the kids can have a bit of everything and indulge in a chocolate fondue dessert.

We love meat and fresh seafood. The kids usually eat pasta, fruit and ice cream.

The most memorable beach resort we have been to is Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa. It’s great because it has a pool and kids’ water play areas, and of course, it’s a beachfront hotel and right by the sea.

Just having fun together as a family, without the need to plan anything or go anywhere, is truly the best weekend that can reset and recharge us for the week ahead.
