LOS ANGELES - The beloved 1989 film Turner & Hooch put a twist on the buddy-cop comedy by pairing a police detective with a giant French mastiff which helped him solve crimes.
Starring Tom Hanks as Detective Turner, it was a critical flop but a box-office winner. A new television spin-off hopes to conjure some of that magic.
