SINGAPORE - Wolfwalkers, an animated movie based on Irish myths, is a critical success that has been nominated for an Oscar. Two animated films based on Chinese legends, Ne Zha (2019) and its follow-up Jiang Ziya: Legend Of Deification (2020), set the box office alight in China.

These films were made by people who grew up with the legends that inspired the films. It just makes sense.
