SINGAPORE – These were the questions on the minds of everyone in the film business in 2022: Has the audience’s shift to streaming during the pandemic become a permanent change? Now that restrictions have been lifted, will the cinema-going crowd go back to pre-pandemic numbers?
As it turned out, the answers would not come in 2022. This was because of the smaller-than-usual number of big-budget Hollywood movies that were released.
