SINGAPORE – World Blood Donor Day is celebrated annually on June 14 to raise awareness of the importance of blood donation and encourage more people to become regular donors.
The event was initiated in 2004 by four international organisations – the World Health Organisation, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the International Society of Blood Transfusion, and the International Federation of Blood Donor Organisations.
