After the circuit breaker last year, the National Library Board (NLB) decided to withdraw physical newspapers from all its libraries.
Chief executive Ng Cher Pong says NLB looked at the policy as an opportunity. "We put in more resources to make digital newspapers available. We put more staff on standby and we looked at it as a way to teach the seniors more digital skills. It worked out very well."
