Who: Tan Kay Ngee, award-winning principal architect of Kay Ngee Tan Architects. He has designed some of Singapore’s most elegant bookshops, including the short-lived Page One Bookstore at VivoCity – which earned him the President’s Design Award, Design of the Year 2007 – as well as the first Kinokuniya Main Store at Ngee Ann City in 1999.
He has since spearheaded the design of Books Kinokuniya outlets in Japan, Singapore, Taipei, Dubai, New York and Thailand.
