SINGAPORE – The Esplanade’s Singtel Waterfront Theatre will stage its first Tamil production in the 25-member cast Mission Malligapoo, an original multilingual script by Agam Theatre Lab a decade in the making.
Set during the Japanese Occupation, the fictional story marshals six elders in a clandestine rescue of a Chinese man imprisoned by invader’s forces. Directors Subramanian Ganesh and Karthikeyan Somasundaram use the hodgepodge crew to ask questions they admit have led to heated discussions and to which they still have no answers: What are the ways to say “Enough is enough”?
