His suggestion to drill holes at the bottom of the bamboo pole holders may weaken the pipe structure, posing a safety concern for residents .

Holes in the holders may also cause rain water to streak and dirty the external wall of the block.

The use of caps to cover the bamboo pole holders, when not in use, remains a practical and safe option for residents.
