Uber app available to help those with hearing difficulties

In her letter, Miss Tay Wan Rong said that Uber has launched and updated its UberPartner apps in some countries to make it easier for customers to communicate with deaf and hard-of-hearing drivers, although this development has not reached Singapore ("Uber option a boost for those with disabilities"; Forum Online, Nov 16).

In fact, Singapore was one of the first markets in the world where Uber rolled out the updated Uber app for driver partners, with new features that make it easier for riders to communicate with deaf and hard-of-hearing drivers.

This was introduced in July.
