Food and feasting are what make life more enjoyable. But let us ask ourselves if it is really necessary to feast on shark's fins (S'pore ranked third in shark fin trade: Report; May 26).

We should realise that our behaviour could lead to the extinction of a species.

It is time for us to give this premium dish a rethink.

The adage "when the buying stops, the killing stops" is an apt one.

If we each do our part, Singapore can proudly emerge last on the list of shark's fin traders.
