I applaud our team from Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) Singapore for its work on the latest blockbuster film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens ("Action made in Singapore for a galaxy far, far away"; Jan 23).

This puts us on the world map as a country that can contribute to the movie world with our creative resources.

The outstanding achievement will also inspire the younger generation and show them that we can gain success through good education, hard work and determination.

Singapore has resourceful people, good infrastructure and strong government backing to enable its citizens to fulfil their dreams.

There are still areas that are untapped and where we can achieve further success.

Young Singaporeans should take up the challenge and continue with the Singapore success story.

I hope the team at ILM Singapore will be given special mention at the next National Day celebration.
