As a driver, I encounter, almost on a daily basis, electric bicycles being ridden dangerously ("E-bikes are everywhere - now we need to learn to live with them"; Nov 7).
Just this morning, while taking my son to school, I saw an elderly man pedalling his e-bike diagonally across a cross junction.
E-bikes share the same roads as cars and motorcycles and should be subject to at least some of the same safety requirements.
For a start, all e-bikes should be required to use front and back lights between 7pm and 7am. In fact, it should be made mandatory that all e-bikes sold must come fitted with front and back lights.
Errant e-bike riders must also be efficiently tracked to enable effective enforcement of e-bike regulations.
