Street lights shouldn't just rely on timers to come on

On the evening of Oct 25, at 6.30pm, the sky was very dark when I was driving from Ang Mo Kio to Woodlands via the Seletar Expressway.

The street lights were not turned on yet, and it was extremely dark on the expressway. The heavy rain compounded the already low visibility, making driving dangerous.

In this day and age, it should be effortless to install light sensors so that street lights can come on when needed, even if it is before the scheduled turn-on time.
