Simple rules to follow on shared paths

I read with interest the reports and letters regarding the sharing of footpaths by pedestrians and users of bicycles and electric mobile devices.

Actually, it all boils down to being considerate, gracious and caring. These are sorely missing in our fast-paced and stressful city-living.

I propose the following common-sense rules for sharing roads and footpaths:

- the fast must give way to the slow

- big users must give way to smaller ones

- stronger users must give way to weaker ones
