Reckless drivers a danger for driverless cars

I agree with Mr Paul Chan Poh Hoi ("Go slow in adopting driverless cars"; Sept 2).

I am sceptical about using self-driving technology here because when I drive, I feel like I have to be very defensive and stay alert for reckless drivers.

I could leave the driving to this revolutionary technology, but someone else could crash into me.

I also do not think the car insurance industry is ready to come up with policies that cover the unique circumstances in a driverless car.

There is much to prove if an accident happens. Would the insurer make its claims on behalf of the drivers and go after the automaker or the technology inventor?

This self-driving technology is best used only if every single car on the road is driverless.
