Look seriously into reasons for teachers' resignations

I read with concern the report about teachers quitting the profession ("5,000 teachers leave service over five years"; Oct 3).
The Ministry of Education should study the reasons given for teachers' resignations - for example, long working hours, too much administrative work, overly demanding parents - and try to remedy the situation. Teachers' welfare should not be overlooked.
