Juno space mission will open up new vistas

Kudos to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (Nasa) for its successful Juno mission.

Its Juno spacecraft entered Jupiter's orbit on America's Independence Day ("By Juno! We can start cracking Jupiter's secrets"; July 6).

This mission will open up new vistas in space exploration and, one day, we may come to know that we are not alone in this universe.

Although this mission costs US$1.1 billion (S$1.48 billion), space missions are like gold mines - and this space mining has just begun.
