Improve Jurong's transport infrastructure

As a resident of Jurong West, I am delighted to know that the Jurong Innovation District (JID) will be coming up ("Jurong to be 'industrial park of the future'"; March 25).

However, I am concerned about the transport infrastructure.

Currently, only the East-West MRT Line serves Jurong, and it is reaching its capacity.

The authorities should build infrastructure to support upcoming residential apartments and new industries like the JID.

The Jurong Region Line should be built as soon as possible to relieve congestion on the East-West Line. I also hope that it will be linked to the Circle Line and Downtown Line.

Flyovers and underpasses should also be added to road networks, to eliminate waiting times at junctions between the Pan-Island Expressway and Ayer Rajah Expressway.

These measures to build proper transport infrastructure are needed to make Jurong more accessible.
