As a mother of two young children, I am concerned about the breeding of mosquitoes on the rooftops of HDB blocks.
I live on the highest floor of a block in Potong Pasir, and have noticed a surge in mosquito bites after it rains. These insects fly in through the windows and other openings in our home.
Can the town councils ensure our rooftops are not collecting stagnant water and are mosquito-free?
Improvements need to be made in maintaining residential buildings, especially in older estates.
Also, the monthly fumigation is only carried out on the ground level of the estate.
Perhaps the authorities could consider carrying out this fumigation on the rooftops as well, to protect people living on the higher floors.
