Extra 4 weeks of unpaid infant-care leave looks good only on paper

With the price of everything on the increase and the cost of living rising in Singapore, it is impractical to grant "unpaid" leave when both husband and wife are working to balance the expenditure sheet (Extra four weeks of unpaid infant-care leave for public servants; March 3).

If the Government is serious about encouraging people to have more children, it should grant paid leave instead.

Why implement something that looks good on paper but remains a strain for most household?
