Don't catch Zika while out catching Pokemon

Since Aug 27, the number of Zika cases has swelled to more than 200, and the infection has spread from the Aljunied area to other parts of Singapore ("PM: Best way to curb Zika is to stop mosquito breeding"; Sept 2).

The National Environment Agency has been doing its utmost to fight mosquitoes, including going out daily to do fogging.

Currently, hundreds, if not thousands, of Singaporeans are engaged in the Pokemon craze and are out and about trying to catch the playful monsters.

Perhaps it would be advisable to stop playing during this period, lest players catch Zika instead.

We must be responsible in our fight against Zika.
