We refer to Ms Jessica Gao Peirong's letter ("Explanation needed for lost parcels"; Forum Online, Nov 29).
Our investigation revealed that our postman wrongly delivered the delivery advices that were meant for Ms Gao to another address.
The post office staff then handed over Ms Gao's registered mail items to the person who presented the two delivery advices.
The postman has been counselled and sent for refresher training. We have also advised the post office staff to exercise greater care and diligence in verifying the identity of the person before handing over any item that is being collected.
We have since contacted Ms Gao to offer our apologies, and we appreciate her kind understanding.
