Chinatown pedestrian bridge needs escalator, expansion

I appeal to the authorities to install an escalator on the Pagoda Street side of the overhead bridge between People's Park Complex and Lucky Chinatown, and to expand the narrow steps at the People's Park Complex side.

The daily human traffic during peak hours is very heavy and the place gets very congested.

It is also arduous for the elderly to climb the many steps to reach the top of the overhead bridge from the Pagoda Street side. The narrow passageway cannot take the crowds coming from the direction of People's Park Complex.

This congestion gets worse during the Chinese New Year period.

I hope the authorities will look into the congestion and pedestrians' safety along this concrete bridge, which is heavily used daily.
