Beware of diseases that sandflies can spread

Precautionary attention should be given to the sandflies which are troubling visitors to Coney Island and elsewhere.

These sandflies are known to cause bites that are much itchier than those of mosquitoes. They, too, can spread diseases.

The proliferation of sandflies should be checked before people fall ill from these bites.
