The timely capture of 27 radicalised foreigners in Singapore is a reality check for all of us from two aspects ("27 radicalised Bangladeshis held under ISA"; Jan 21).
First, no nation is safe from any extremist.
Second, Singapore owes its security to the many on the front line shielding our society from harm, resolved with one intent - Singapore will not yield to any form of extremism. We salute these sentinels.
Singapore was fortunate this time, and we can remain fortunate only with our collective will to safeguard our way of life. We surely owe it to ourselves for our future.
