I received a call from an AIG insurance agent recently who said that I could get a $50 gift voucher that can be used towards payments for my home insurance premiums.

All he required was my credit card details or a cheque that his courier would collect from me at my home.

However, the premium amount was $21.40 more than that stated in a renewal notice I had received by post.

When queried about the increase in the premium amount, the agent replied that this was his company's rule.

I rejected the offer as I regard it as one that is not genuine.
