Who: Ronnie Lim Ah Bee, 71, retired as a senior education officer in 2004.
After retirement, I worked on a contract basis at various organisations to keep myself occupied and active. Now, I take care of my grandchildren.
My family: Married to a housewife, Madam Grace Diana Koh, 62, with a son, 35, daughter, 38, granddaughter, four, and grandson, eight months.
My home: A condominium in the west.
My passions: Trekking and walking in nature parks (MacRitchie Reservoir Park is like a second home), travelling, gardening, reading and writing.
I first started writing to the Forum page...: In the early 1980s.
What I write about: Government policies and public-related matters that affect our lives.
Why I write: To air views from the ground on issues affecting us.
I read the Forum page because...: It offers varied opinions from all walks of life, from those on the ground to policymakers.
My wish for Singapore: That the Government and the people work in synergy to make Singapore a better place to live in, not only for us but also for future generations.
To always remember that there is no place like home.
