Who: Ivan Ho Seng Cheng, 64, part- time lecturer.

My family: Married to a housewife, 52, with a son, 22, and two daughters, 25 and 17.

My home: A house in the north-west.

My passions: Engaging in activities that add value to my mind and body. I'm constantly taking the pulse of domestic and international affairs, and events that have an impact on Singapore and our environment.

I first started writing to the Forum page in...: 2015

What I write about: Issues on the environment such as the haze and climate change, our war on mosquitoes, MRT woes and terrorism.

Why I write: The Straits Times Forum offers a great platform that allows me to share concerns about issues that have an impact on the public and our nation, and to suggest practical solutions to these issues.

I read the Forum page because...: It reflects the interest and maturity of our society in expressing its members' views and opinions.

My wish for Singapore: That it strives for greater cohesion and to become a gracious society, while progressing and transforming as we confront numerous challenges in this evolving world.
