Who: Oh Jen Jen, 41, an emergency physician.

My family: Single.

My home: A private condominium apartment in Bishan.

My passions: I love to read, and am a huge TV show and movie buff. I also enjoy travelling, attending concerts and watching plays and musicals.

I started writing to the Forum page...: I think it was 1994, just before I started university.

What I write about: A variety of topics - political, social and occasionally medical.

Why I write: Usually, it's in response to a Straits Times article or another reader's Forum letter. But I've also highlighted unpleasant personal experiences, to alert other readers and give the parties involved a gentle push. It's very effective.

I read the Forum page because...: It offers many different perspectives on a wide variety of issues.

Sometimes, a reader's letter generates so much buzz it becomes headline news, which empowers others to contribute.

My wish for Singapore: I hope Singapore will continue to enjoy peace and prosperity, and that we will never take any of it for granted.
