Who: Teoh Ren Shang, 36, medical doctor.

My family: Married to Victoria Tay, a nurse, 30, with a two-year-old son, Xavier.

My home: A five-room flat in Toa Payoh.

My passions: Reading, soccer, music, meditation and fatherhood.

I started writing to the Forum page...: As an undergraduate of the National University of Singapore, more than 10 years ago.

What I write about: Health, current affairs, bouquets and brickbats for services received.

Why I write: It is important to express one's heartfelt opinions in a media with a wide reach locally. And it is also fascinating to test the boundaries of what gets published, or not.

I read the Forum page because...: It reflects mainstream opinions and what is permissible.

My wish for Singapore: That we become even more inclusive of divergent views across the social and political spectrum.
