Who: Jag Kuo, 36, a vice-president at a foreign bank.

My family: Married to financial consultant Cynthia Tan, 35, with two children: Hazel, four, and Jacob, five months.

My home: An apartment in the west coast of Singapore.

My passions: Football and reading. I am a lifelong fan of Manchester United Football Club.

I started writing to the Forum page...: In 2003.

What I write about: Issues such as local politics, finance and government policies.

Why I write: To contribute alternative views on current issues, with the hope that policymakers take such opinions into consideration when formulating their policies.

I read the Forum page because...: It reflects the pulse of the nation and highlights the diversity in views and ideas in Singapore.

Some observers wrongly assume that Singaporeans are apathetic and uninformed. They should read the Forum page to see how wrong they can be.

My wish for Singapore: That we can truly accept and embrace diversity in Singapore that goes beyond different races and religions, to include different groups like foreign workers, single parents, the handicapped community and the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning community.

Even in the political arena, I hope we recognise that diversity of opinions is good for the body politic and that no one person or party can have a monopoly on ideas on how to take the country forward or represent a diverse society.
