Win-win solution for oBike situation

I refer to the articles about oBike shutting down here, the non-return of deposits and the problem of abandoned bikes (oBike closes in S'pore, cites difficulty meeting LTA rules, June 26; oBike users unlikely to get deposits back; June 27, Uncollected oBikes: Town councils looking to take action; June 28).

If town councils clear these bikes, it is going to cost them some time and money and the bikes will be scrapped. This is a waste of resources.

I would like to suggest that oBike restart their app so that people with outstanding deposits can be allowed to permanently unlock one bike each in exchange for their deposit.

This is a win-win solution for all involved. I hope this can be quickly implemented before the bikes are disposed of.
