Who protects the employers?

I fully agreed when Senior Tech Correspondent Irene Tham said domestic helpers are really different from other foreign workers (Maids in debt: Protect employers from their creditors; Oct 15).

The Ministry of Manpower has rules and regulations to protect the maids but till now, I have seen little to protect the employers. Foreign domestic workers are adults so why should employers still be made responsible for their actions?
